Quick Start: Staff Member

What The StaffApp means for you β€” your portal, your check-ins, and your development journey.

The StaffApp is a development platform, not a surveillance tool. It exists to give you a clear path for growing in your role, documented conversations with your manager, and visibility into your own progress. Here's what you need to know.

Accepting your invite

You received an email from The StaffApp with a link to set up your account. Click the link to confirm and you're in β€” no password needed. If your invite expired (they last 24 hours), ask your manager to resend it.

Your staff portal

When you log in, you land on your personal portal. From here you can see: your position and department, your hire date, check-in notes your manager chose to share with you, any formal incidents or commendations on record, your annual review when it's active, and notifications from your manager.

Check-ins: what to expect

Your manager will schedule regular check-in conversations with you β€” at 30, 60, and 90 days after your hire date, and annually after that. These are short one-on-one conversations, typically 10-15 minutes. They're not performance reviews β€” they're development conversations. Your manager may share their notes with you afterward so you have a record.

Your Annual Self-Review

Once per year, you'll be asked to complete an Annual Self-Review β€” a chance to rate your own performance and reflect on your growth before your manager does the same. Do it honestly. The self-review is designed to start the annual conversation from your perspective, not your manager's.

πŸ’‘

Your self-review is completed first, before your manager writes their review. This is intentional β€” your voice goes in before any feedback from management.

Incident and commendation records

If a concern was formally documented β€” a disciplinary conversation, a performance issue β€” it will appear in your portal. You have the right to see what's on record. Commendations (positive recognition) appear here too. If something looks wrong, talk to your manager or owner.

Language settings

The StaffApp supports English and Spanish. Tap the language selector in your portal to switch. Check-in summaries shared by your manager can also be translated.

Questions?

Talk to your manager. If you have a technical issue with your account β€” can't log in, wrong hire date, etc. β€” ask your manager to contact support@thestaffdevapp.com on your behalf.
